Square
It is a simple and beautiful square, well maintained, pleasant where you can spend a peaceful and quiet time. The main square is so large and generously spaced that the streets surrounding the park are two-lane with trees separating them.
Santa Rosa de Lima Church
Cobbled streets and large houses with Spanish tile roofs and peaceful trees, the historic center is testimony to the colonial era when the town arose from a sugar mill called Paicol, a word that in the Quechua language means "The door of the wind.
The first time that the place appears is in 1651 as “Tambo de Paycol”, that is to say, the sale or hostel of Paicol and it is that the town is cooled by the winds that come from the Sierra de los Coconucos and the Nevado del Huila Volcano.
Tierradentro
Tierradentro is located 2 hours from Paicol, and to get there you must take a vehicle to the La Plata Transportation Terminal, a van or car heading to Inzá (Cauca), where the indigenous reservation of San Andrés de Pisimbalá and the entrance to the park.
Tierradentro is a geographic region located in the southwest of Colombia in the department of Cauca, and is made up of the municipalities of Inzá and Páez. This region, named after the Spanish conquerors, is mentioned by various travelers, chroniclers and researchers since the time of the conquest, who visited the area and in their writings gave news about the archaeological remains and monolithic statues found in the region, which ultimately they incited the looting of the graves. Tierradentro is recognized worldwide today because there are impressive underground funeral structures carved in rock, decorated and of great architectural complexity, better known as hypogea (tombs)
Experiences: It was undoubtedly a great surprise to visit the Tierradentro archaeological park and find in it samples of what was a very organized society that cared a lot about preparing for death. This site is very well preserved and has nothing to envy to other places, since in it we can find something unique that will make more than one person fall in love.
